My suggestion is that for every dollar appropriated going forward that an equal dollar goto paying down the debt.

I agree with you Verlander, Diaz and deficit comments. We’re leaving a big problem to our grandchildren. Shame on us.

I also think we should eliminate the tax cuts for the wealthy and raise taxes on anyone who can afford it. If we could do both things, cut spending and raise taxes, we might see our way out of this.

The national debt is a topic that my wife and I discuss on a regular basis. Both sides of the aisle are clueless to do something about it. We need a corporate take on gov’t spending. When companies struggle, they cut costs and it hurts, but many companies survive. We need to cut gov’t spending across the board, and it will hurt, but it needs to be done. I would cut military spending by 25%, and all other departments by 10%, and then reevaluate. Each department is responsible to determine how to achieve the goal.
